Upcoming FACES Conference – 2016
We encourage you to consider attending the upcoming E-Global “Faces of Encephalitis” conference, which will be held from April 15-18, 2016 in Cleveland, OH. There will be at least one presentation devoted to autoimmune forms of encephalitis/encephalopathy, and these conferences always provide extraordinary opportunities to not only gain information, but to also meet with others who are walking in your shoes.

Upcoming Conference – San Diego – Feb 21-23, 2014
Upcoming Conference – San Diego – Feb 21-23, 2014
Encephalitis Global is holding a conference in La Jolla, San Diego, California from Friday, February 21 – 23, 2014. The conference is not limited to a particular type of encephalitis, and most presentations are applicable to anyone dealing with encephalitis/encephalopathy.
A number of people with Hashimoto’s Encephalopathy will be attending this year’s conference, and among the speakers is Dr. Melanie Alarcio, a neurologist in the Phoenix, Arizona area who has treated many patients with autoimmune encephalitis, and who also has a special interest in PANDAS. Another speaker is Dr. Jacopo Annese, of The Brain Observatory in San Diego. Dr. Annese has been called the founder of modern brain research, and is one of the top brain researchers in the world.
The conference is called “FACES 2014” and past experience has shown these conferences provide a weekend of learning as well as a terrific opportunity to spend time with others who are dealing with encephalitis / encephalopathy.

New Non-Profit Organization dedicated to HE
In the last few months, a new non-profit organization was formed: Hashimoto’s Encephalopathy SREAT Alliance (“HESA”). HESA’s website was launched in the last few days, and although it is still under construction, we urge you to take a look. Here is a link to the site: www.hesaonline.org
In the interest of full disclosure, I – hesilverlining – am the Executive Director of HESA. You will see some duplication of information between the HESA site and this site, most notably, the list of scientific articles. Providing links to the articles on both sites will allow even more people to find scientific information, which is a prime goal of this site and of HESA.
We are stronger when we are better informed.
